Shift Manager
We are looking for a Shift Manager to oversee tea shop operations in conjunction with the owners, including welcoming and serving guests.
In the absence of the owner, the Shift Manager makes sure everything runs smoothly, including managing when employees arrive at work and leave.
Shift Manager Responsibilities include:
· Delegating tasks to tea shop staff
· Maintaining a fully-stocked inventory and ordering food supplies, as needed
· Addressing guest inquiries ensuring compliance with safety regulations, HACCP & COVID regulations.
· Arrange to have shifts covered (e.g. when employees take time off)
· Help staff resolve on-the-job challenges
· Track daily costs and revenues
· Balance the cash register at the end of the shift
· Coordinate with suppliers as they deliver food product orders
· Ensure client satisfaction and gracefully handle any complaints
· Open or close the restaurant (when responsible for the first or last shift)
· Inform the next Shift Manager about pending tasks
· Report maintenance and training needs
Requirements and skills
· Proven experience as a Shift Manager or relevant role
· Good knowledge of food industry operations (like managing reservations and payments)
· Availability to work different shifts, including weekends
· Basic knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
· A guest service approach with the ability to manage complaints with professionalism
· Excellent organizational skills
· Team management abilities
· Communicate with guests and other employees to find a compromise keeping both parties happy
· Must be detailed oriented and attentive to guests needs.
You will be the face of our tea shop and an important member of a small team. The job requires careful attention to detail at all times, and each team member plays an important role in creating a welcoming, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Our guests should feel the same warm welcome they would feel as a guest in our own home. Attention to every detail is of utmost importance.
