WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT OCTOBER?
The air is crisp,
the skies are clear,
October whispers
Autumn 's here.
–Author Unknown
October is special because it blends beautiful natural changes, rich traditions, and unique cultural moments into one month.
October has perfect weather and seasonal beauty.
In the Northern Hemisphere, October offers crisp, comfortable air — not too hot, not too cold,
with the magic of autumn leaves in full color and the first brisk winds.
It’s also the peak of the Hunter’s Moon and the Orionid meteor shower.
October is Pumpkin Month and the lead-up to Halloween (Oct 31), with costume shops, spooky décor,
and seasonal treats like pumpkin spice lattes. A time for harvest festivals, fall home tours, and cozy seasonal décor.
It’s the only month you can watch major pro sports — baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and hockey — all at the same time.
Plus, there’s a month-long barrage of horror and spooky movies on TV.
In the U.S., it includes Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Canadian Thanksgiving.
From candy corn and Halloween treats to seasonal pies and pumpkin desserts, October is a month to indulge.
It’s also a great time for fall home tours, craft projects, and seasonal cooking.
In short, October is great because it’s a month of color, comfort, celebration, and culture ...
a perfect mix of nature’s beauty and human tradition.

Here at Butterflies and Wishes, we are excited to transition into fall. October is all about pumpkins and the vibrant fall colors.
Our themed tea service for October is "Fall Season Tea Service" offered October 1 - 25. We will be offering a Halloween Tea Service from October 28 - October 31. We will be posting fall recipes and fall related items on our social media pages.
We invite you to The Tea Nook, where you will find a casual, relaxing atmosphere and vibe where you can enjoy baked items, specialty tea beverages (including hot and iced tea, boba/bubble tea, iced coffee, hot coffee). We offer Seasonal Bubble Tea and Latte's along with new specialty beverages and flavored tea blends.
We are now offering a weekend walk-in tea service with no reservation needed. (Though we do recommend calling ahead to be sure a table is available).
We have created a Tea Nook Cafe Menu with selected hot and cold sandwiches, sides (soup/Cole slaw/potato salad) and more.
The Tea Nook is a place where you can enjoy down time, sit and relax on our comfy sofa with your favorite tea and book, snack on your favorite scone and sweet or just chat with your bestie. There's even a little book nook where you can peruse our gently read books,
which are also available for purchase at a discounted price.
We love art and have several murals painted by local artists. We have a beautiful butterfly mural where you can take selfies and post them to your favorite social media platform.
We are continuing to add new fun things for you to enjoy. We are excited to be collaborating with local small businesses in the area and will be offering their products in our shop. You will find their gems throughout our tea shop. We will be "Spilling the Tea" with them via live videos on social media to get to know more about their products, how they got into their business and more.
